How to find old screenshots on iPhone
You remember saving it. You do not remember when. Finding old screenshots in Photos usually means scrolling a chronological wall. Screenbase approaches the same problem as search and organization.
What people usually try
Filtering Photos to Screenshots helps, but a year of captures is still a long grid. Date-based browsing only works if you remember the approximate week — and most useful references are remembered by content, not calendar.
Better retrieval cues
The earlier you add a little context, the easier old screenshots are to find. Annotation is the cheapest insurance against a lost reference.
- Search the note you wrote (“paywall,” “confirmation,” “color tokens”).
- Open the collection where that topic lives.
- On Pro, search the text that was on screen.
- Use tags when the same theme appears across projects.
Build the library before you need it
If your Camera Roll is already huge, start by filing the screenshots you still care about into collections, then lean on search for the rest. Screenbase surfaces what is already in Photos — you do not re-import a second archive.
