Privacy Policy
This policy describes how Pi Cubed, LLC (“we,” “us”) handles information when you use Screenbase (the “App”) and this website. Your screenshot images stay on your devices. Screenbase does not upload your screenshot library to our servers. We may process and sync limited metadata needed to provide Screenbase, as described below. Information we process
We process two kinds of information.
Screenshot Content includes screenshot image files, content visible in screenshots, text extracted from screenshots (including OCR), and annotations you add. Screenshot images stay on your device. We do not upload your screenshot library to our servers. Some Screenshot Content you create — such as annotations — may be included in Service Data that we store or sync. We do not use Screenshot Content to train AI models.
Service Data includes:
- Organizational metadata, such as collections, tags, references, and timestamps
- Identifiers used to operate your Screenbase library
- Subscription status
- Analytics and diagnostics, when enabled
- Messages you send us, such as support email
We do not require your name, email, or phone number to use the App.
How Screenbase handles your screenshots
Screenbase asks for Photos access so it can find, display, organize, annotate, and search screenshots. You can grant, limit, or revoke that permission in your device settings. Without access, the library may be incomplete.
Screenshot image files stay on your device. We do not upload your screenshot library to Screenbase-managed servers. Screenbase may analyze screenshot content on your device to provide features such as search and organization.
We store and may sync limited Service Data needed to run Screenbase — for example collections, tags, references, timestamps, and annotations you write. That is not the same as uploading your screenshot images.
Screenbase does not modify the original screenshot files in Photos. If you delete a screenshot from Photos, related Screenbase records may remain until you remove them.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain Screenbase
- Organize and sync Service Data
- Manage subscriptions and restore purchases
- Improve product quality
- Understand how Screenbase is used, if analytics are enabled
- Respond to support and other messages you send
- Protect the service and meet legal obligations
If analytics are enabled, we may collect information about how Screenbase is used, such as feature interactions, app version, device information, and performance data. We use this information to understand and improve the product. You can control analytics from Screenbase Settings where available.
Service providers
We use other companies to help operate Screenbase. They process information only to provide services to us, for example:
- Apple, for Photos access, App Store billing, and related platform services. Apple processes App Store payments.
- Google, including Firebase, for identifiers and Service Data needed to operate Screenbase
- RevenueCat, for subscriptions and purchase restoration
- Cloudflare, for hosting this website
- Analytics providers, if analytics are enabled
Each provider has its own privacy policy. This website may collect basic hosting and security logs, and analytics if we use them. Links to other sites are governed by those sites’ policies.
Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We share information with the service providers described above, when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or with a successor if Pi Cubed, LLC is involved in a merger or sale.
Retention, deletion, and your choices
Information on your device remains until you remove it or delete the App. Photos assets remain in Photos until you delete them there. Service Data we store is kept as needed to operate Screenbase, and for a reasonable period afterward for security and legal purposes.
To request access to or deletion of server-side Screenbase data, email hello@getscreenbase.com. Deleting the App or deleting screenshots from Photos may not by itself delete Service Data on our servers. Subscription cancellation is managed through your Apple ID, not by deleting Screenbase data.
You can also control Photos access in your device settings, control analytics in Screenbase Settings where available, and stop using the App. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information. Email us to make a request.
International users, security, and children
Pi Cubed, LLC is based in Brooklyn, New York, United States. Service providers may process information in the United States and other countries.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with an updated date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
